Color Your World: Dining Room
10 September 2015
As fall approaches we can’t help but think about all the holiday entertaining that is bound to happen in your homes over the next few months. We’re sure that by now you’ve already outfitted your kitchen (read our tips!) with lots of colorful accents, and while you may think you’re done with adding color, we think there’s always room for more. You may ask where you’re going to add more color? And our answer is your dining room! Don’t fight it, you know it’s the perfect time to give it a little refresh before the entertaining season arrives. So, without further ado, here are our tips for adding color to you dining room.
Photography: Have you traveled to a beautiful colorful destination? Take your most loved photo from your trip, print it, frame it, and hang it as the anchor for your dining room. Haven’t traveled much? Gray Malin always has the best prints. Etsy has a ton too!
Place Settings: You can go wild with color with your place settings. We suggest starting with white plates and building from there. A colorful charger, printed napkin and fun napkin ring, will add the right amount of color.
Plant Life: Every dining room should have a bit of flora. If buying fresh flowers all the time isn’t an option purchase a seasonal bouquet from your favorite market or purchase some online from The Bouqs Co. when guests are coming over. Another great option is to have a spread of succulents on the table. We’ve heard they’re easy to maintain and look very urban chic.
Floor Coverings: This is arguably the easiest way to add color to your dining room. Area rugs anchor the space and make it more cozy. Not sure where to start looking for a rug? Rugs USA has trendy and affordable options. We’re also fans of Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and Pier 1 Imports.
